Had a great morning at Telo but had to keep going south. South means heat and camping spot had little to offer including a lack of cool. It was late had to get journal updated and wanted it with comfort.

Hotel cheap and had a bed. What more could I ask for? Gas nearby if close to six bucks so I stopped.

Not just gas but I’m getting way ahead of myself. I’m sure it’s better than six bucks too bad I’m not electric yet. These chargers everywhere…here at least
Love early mornings here
It’s good I start early as temp rises and phone always gotta cool. Got lucky here

Phone obviously too hot and breakfast calling. Sit down inside and let the food do its job and prepare phone for doing its job.

Groovy drive excluding the closer I get the heat going up as well.

Fun looking resort but still far from the huge Death Valley
Don’t think this has vacancy but it is vacant
Don’t know if vacant but is a resort If curious regardless of condition etc here all are resorts
Yes it’s open. Fresh jerky
Never found it. Perhaps it’s ironic. Hope so between my bouts of sweating, humor lightens the day
Actually in the park. This the road from from store, camping, and gas to visitor center…bout 1 1/2 hours away.

Alyssa from the general store advised to get gallons of water for drive to thermometer it’s very long water is key just in case.

She also said I wouldn’t like this one but it’s important. No matter how much I want to don’t turn on ac as it will heat up engine and perhaps slow down or even stop the car hence extra water. No problem was my reply “I just had a pass in northern CA—she stopped me with “Sedona Pass?”

“Yes” said I

“You should be fine that’s the bane of my existence. It’s the steepest road in USA. It’s only an average of 10 which is still horrible but has parts that are 26% grade! That’s not a pass that’s a gravel ladder. “

Alyssa of the water advice and the mutual non-admiration of Sedona pass society
Were I to take a picture of them you’d see to Amish couples in full on regalia. Men staw hats, black long pants, long sleeve shirt, belt, and suspenders. Women full on long skirts, long sleeves and their bonnets. Both with horrible leather shoes circa 1830. And I thought in this heat I might chafe.
Hard to tell but this Mongols outlaw club jacket. Funny thing is I didn’t take Amish picture as I might steal soul or similar drivel. But no problem (small problem I did take through window with back towards me) of famous outlaw gang member who’s at war with the Hells Angels for control over several illegal markets.
Start of deep fry drive. It’s only bout 100 degrees here.
It may look like some water. It ain’t
Still got some altitude but gotta ways to go.
Holy POOP 117 degrees I drove 1 1/2 hours for this. Lucky no one here cause heat. Gave me plenty of space and time to watch films on the park in air conditioning .

It’s de rigueur for me to wake up early but after pee o’clock (midnight) I had a square and was hit with a wall of heat a dry one but still A WALL. The only remote in my cabin was for AC. It’s the only amenity I need. After packing wasted no time and left. So my phone wouldn’t overheat…it did 3 times. Heading to a BLM campground near Barstow which takes its merchandising of Route 66(all rights reserved) seriously.

Not positive but I didn’t see one Sinclair sign. Wendy will understand.
McDonald’s liquor store and tchotchkes. That spells Route 66. Hell it spells America.
Same spot but here you see sign for booze

Out o Death Valley still stupid hot!!!! Found campsite not a person or a lost soul in site.

Camp
If I were a murderous inbred psychopath this is where I’d kill unsuspecting tourists. Think The Hills Have Eyes.

Not wanting to be mirdered just for being available. Leave early again and head to Joshua Tree National Park

I

The night and slightly coolish

A gas station burrito and 6ish gas, I won’t ever run out-best laid plans. Short drive today arrived at campsite too early and had little difficulty navigating through the Yucca but I’m at a new home again.

Joshua Tree National Park. Kinda nice.
